FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN ’20 was blessed by perfect weather, 18 Buses, and great food and fellowship. And the best news, Ding Dong! Mavis was gone!
The Weekend for FOTM 2021 is the third weekend, 17-19 September, but of course there are always a few of us there earlier than that. I'm already looking forward to next year!
This campout is in North Georgia.
1) The flow of traffic is changed. Loop one is no longer reliably accessible (by bus) from Loop two. That means one must pass the old entrance, drive another half mile or so, and enter loop one there. (Unless the gate is open...) A drive up the hill finds the loo on the top on the left. It confused several of us in 2019.
2) The gates may be closed at night, so reconsider late arrivals if possible.
3) VERISON signal is abundant, there is phone service! Have fellow camper’s numbers in case you arrive late…
4) The campground is fully recovered from the devastation of two seasons of hurricanes! Yes!
We talked and we remembered the days when 70+ made it to FOTM. Our 2019 showing of a dozen buses was perfect, and 2020's 18 were not too many, and there is room of course for a few more mellow souls…
