sounds like a rod knocking only it seems to be coming from trans.

started when I put it in gear. but now it does it when you turn engine over

any ideas on what to check

check the torque convertor bolts first, look at the flex plate and make sure it isn't cracked

Thanks Mark your diagnosis was correct the flex plate bolts come loose running fine now no noise.

cool we put a drop of blue locktitie on them
