I bought a rebuilt transmission for the Vanagon and it lasted less than a year before it failed. Took it to a local mechanic and he said Oh! It's such and such bearing and rebuilt it again and it leaked ever since then. Now, a little more than a year later again I have only first and third. Maybe fourth? Definitely no second.
Enough. I feel like I can't trust anyone. I mean I paid these people what they asked...
So, if anyone has a core transmission I can rebuild myself so I can KNOW it is done right and at least have only myself to blame if it isn't, I'll take any lead you have.
