Yep 13 turns is ok. Putting back by number of turns is just a general guide to get it close assuming it was aligned correctly before you started.

what do you know about tie rods it said put back on with same # of turns as taken off took off in 12 turns but takes 13 to put back on the locking nut is in same spot at the 13 turns is this ok need to know now

working on a 62 bug 6V. hot battery. almost new starter. Starter drags, not getting enough voltage from switch. Thinking of going the ford booster relay but not sure how to go about it. Any ideas or better suggestions?

hey dererk Almost new from where and what brand?? i HAVE SEEN THE CHEAP ONES NOT WORK VERY WELL RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. Bosch ones come with a new bushing ALSO HAVE YOU CHECKED THE BUSHING IN THE TRANS. later md

is a bosch, may be a reman. I'll pull it tomorrow and check the bushing. Starter was in the car when it came to me. thanks.

Ive seen 2 different sized bushings for the starter. It doesnt take much slop to adversely affect the starter

I just installed a simple 4 pin relay in my Jetta and it worked great. Starter can now get a good 12V without having to travel through 10 miles of extra wire.

hey pete the bushing will not interchange, 12v and 6 v are very different in size. They also make conversion bushings 6 to 12 and 12 to 6 later mark d
