what do you know about tie rods it said put back on with same # of turns as taken off took off in 12 turns but takes 13 to put back on the locking nut is in same spot at the 13 turns is this ok need to know now

I have a customers car in for its second timing belt job today that I have done. I put a new head on it and belt 100k ago due to a broken belt. I thought 300k was up there. I am at 260k on my Golf. While on TDI club.com saw photos of a 1998 tdi Beetle with 900k original engine trans still in car it was in for a timing belt job. WOW. That TDI conversion on my Bay is gonna be awsome.
