I agree, but the gallery for this software is not all that simple to use, prob why it was harldy used. I am looking into whether there are any plugins to make it easier.

Kewl thanks for the response Collie. I hope more people will utilize it because it's a far easier way for all Moonies to reminisce the campouts. I sure would utilize it to show pics of others and alls' kewl buses

I heard there was a moonie that would take your non running engine and sell you a rebuilt engine for a good price! can anyone point me in his direction?

Yep 13 turns is ok. Putting back by number of turns is just a general guide to get it close assuming it was aligned correctly before you started.

Howdy. Well since I sold the crew cab without the engine, I now have it for sale, hate to see it sit around. It has less than 40,000 miles on a mostly NEW build. New universal case, pistons, cylinders, all bearings, standard crankshaft, 30/31 carb, generator, all new at that time. The heads were rebuilt single port heads, and of course the tin was OG stuff. Doghouse fan shroud & oil cooler setup. I ran it for 10 minutes before pulling it Thursday, and it cranks and runs fine. I've always done near-religious oil changes and valve adjustments. Ready to go into whatever beetle, split, early bay, Ghia, etc that you've got.
I have a correct oil bath air cleaner I can throw in as well if the price is right.
I've got over $2500 in the build, asking $1500, somewhat negotiable. If the price goes for less than that then I'm pulling the SVDA distributor to put on something else. Would also consider interesting trades as well. I know you can find rebuilds cheaper, but this is mostly new, good for years, then can be machined/rebuilt more down the road without getting into over-machined issues...
Located near Hickory NC, can't really deliver since there's no way I can load that thing up by myself.
Picture is from a couple days ago right before I pulled it.
Thanks,
