Yep 13 turns is ok. Putting back by number of turns is just a general guide to get it close assuming it was aligned correctly before you started.

what do you know about tie rods it said put back on with same # of turns as taken off took off in 12 turns but takes 13 to put back on the locking nut is in same spot at the 13 turns is this ok need to know now

Hi y'all,

Sorry, I've been a bit preoccupied this week. The fire GUTTED our kitchen and since we didn't have insurance on the contents we have moved in with my parents while the house is repaired. Soot and ash and grease have covered everthing on two floors of the house and the items in closets and drawers reek of burnt kitchen.

No-one was injured in the fire except for two of our three cats, who were lost to smoke inhalation. They will be missed. Our neighbours and friends helped us get moved out over the weekend so remediation can begin asap.

Word has gone out over the internets and we have been overwhelmed by the support from the vw community, it's truly wonderful to be part of such a thing.

More soon, I promise.
