Hi! My name is Carol. I am looking for a reliable and reasonably priced VW mechanic in the Savannah GA area. I have a 1971 bus that has dead AZ tags and a salvage title. I need to have it inspected in order to license it. To pass inspection it needs to have the blinkers fixed, neither works, they did in the beginning (4years ago) then, something happened and they stopped. Need to make sure the brake lights are good too. My horn needs to work and my right windshield wipers needs some minor stuff done to it. I haven't been able to drive it for almost 2 years but she runs well, just needs to get rolling again. Anyone know where I can find help? I'm use to having my bus family in Tucson around and never having her idle for long but, I don't personally know anyone on the east coast. Once I get her rolling, I hope to meet some of you folks at some of the camping trips in the future !

I don't have my Brewgrass wardrobe picked out yet, but I'll be the longhair spilling beer down the front of himself. Although that will probably describe half the folks there. We'll keep a lookout for ya!!!

As it turns out I won't be traveling to Gauley Fest and will be home here in Asheville. Larry Keel Fri night, then just around. Too poor for Brewgrass even if there was a ticket. Give me a shout if ya'll need somewhere to camp we have a very good spot 2 miles from Larry Keel & also from Brewgrass. Campfire for sure and private spot. PM me for directions or to meet up at the free Larry show Fri night.

Did I mention LARRY KEEL is playing Fri night FOR FREE?? Asheville Moonies... I smell a party.

Good parking in Rankin Street lot. Technically it's monthly permittees only til 6pm, then it's free. My bus will be there as it's my regular spot. Then headed home to light the campfire. Bring guitars & camp out! Also Cosmic American Radio Hour is on late Fri. Cool stuff.

Just checked back in, Brewgrass was everything we hoped it would be. Too much fun, we were 7th in line which enabled us to get in, grab a spot in the shade of the soundboard and then off to sampling. Immediately hit New Belgium Brewing and worked our way around the infield.

Larry Keel "your face" was awesome and the "after 5" freebie was a good primer for Asheville good times.

Highlights were visiting Wedge Brewery, Pisgah Brewing for Great American Taxi, a nooner of ribs @ 12 bones, dinners @ Mela's, Salsa and Doc Chey's, brews @ Mellow Mushroom, Asheville Brewing, Barley's, Jack of the Wood and LAB.

Bonus: Stocking up on Fat Tire(which is not available in Maryland) and Sweetwater 420 Pale Ale at the local grocer.

Yeppers, the visit like the weather was A~W~E~S~O~M~E!

Wish I had checked back in on this thread after we arrived, would have provided my cell# in an effort to meet and greet y'all.

15th annual next year, perhaps we'll do it again...: )

FYI: The bartender we met at Barley's also hung out at the soundboard and taped the Infamous Stringdusters set, he said it should be up on Archive.org if anyone wants a copy.
