I have 2 "Westys", same year, same color scheme, 1 full camper and a weekender.
I am selling the weekender for $6000

or use as downpayment on a VWsynchro-camper (4x4).

I originally bought the weekender for parts for my camper, but then it kept running so well after i gave it new cylinder heads, new steering fluid pump, shocks.....

Ok. I'm always behind the ball. Nothing available at Paddy's wagon. Do they tolerate doubling up on sites? If so, anyone willing to double?

You will not miss anything but a couple of days on the river. Glad you are trying to make it Jamie!

Can son someone advise me, coming from the south which route is more bus friendly, rte 21 thru roaring gap, or 421 to 16?

I don't know but I been told

Bob, IMHO ~hwy21~ there's only one curvy/mountain grade for around 6-8 miles at the foot of mnt & roaring gap. Im not as familiar with hwy16 but it to is an older hwy with winding curves too. Hwy 16 may be a straighter shot from your location. And hwy 21 a bit more scenic. PEACE

from SC take 26 to to 74 to 221, turn off 221 to 105 to avoid blowing rock, get back on 221 in Boone

I don't know the rest of the way by heart but that will get you the least grades up the mountain

421 is the worst possible route I know of, VERY steep!

You could go south on 85 & take exit for 221 & head north toward Boone & follow 221 thru Boone all the way to w Jefferson & follow directions from there

Ruth and I rolled in about 8pm thurs night... surprising enough to me as I figured it would be well after dark.. and i'd get lost 3 0r 4 times in the last 5 miles... lol.. but NOPE! .. still daylight,, thought we were lost,, ask a nice lady at the stop sign, and she gave us directions,, we were within a stones throw!
What a fantastic location! Awesome to meet up with old and new friends!
very relaxing to tube the river....
Faster and family gave us a real good lesson in cast iron pot cooking, and we experienced some more in the Ohio Valley Tribe camp!
I really enjoyed Pirate Radio all weekend! The music was sooo mood setting!! Thanks to Doc Ric and Slaymaker... and family!

Let me tell you tho... just north of the tunnels on 77,, a mind altering trip down a mountain,, in torrential rains,, 55mph traffic on the front.. side and rear... coasting really in "low" gear... it felt like 90mph,, and at least an hour! .. but the storm was only about 15min long..
weather cleared to near PERFECT for our stay,,
we just missed the problem on 77 north tunnel closure... large fire in the tunnel
then almost home.... we just spotted the front. then the funnel cloud in PA ....signs flashing tornado warnings.. 7percent grade downhill,, rain water about an inch deep blowing up the hill!.... water soooo deep at the bottom that the first few who hit the water, slid off the road,, the next 2 trucks almost knocked to a stop by the pool and the WAVE of water pushed them on to the shoulder,,, as we slipped thru between it all... someone parted the lake for us!
That aside.... it was a really good time, and trip!
Bus ran flawlessly,, the other stories will have to come out around a campfire!
