I have 2 "Westys", same year, same color scheme, 1 full camper and a weekender.
I am selling the weekender for $6000

or use as downpayment on a VWsynchro-camper (4x4).

I originally bought the weekender for parts for my camper, but then it kept running so well after i gave it new cylinder heads, new steering fluid pump, shocks.....

Ok. I'm always behind the ball. Nothing available at Paddy's wagon. Do they tolerate doubling up on sites? If so, anyone willing to double?

I have been looking for a dual carb setup for my vanagon. I have been told that they are available, but have yet to find a listing for such a kit for anything newer than 1979. My ecu is bad, and I have yet to find where I can buy one.

You can use the stock intake pipes with a readily available manifold base for a single carb. Dual carbs would require customizing a flange for the 4 stud head.

79 is same as your 82

So If I buy kit for a 79 will it be a 4 stud flange, or is that different? I have heard that people have had issues with fuel not staying suspended with a center mount carb, and thus having problems with acceleration.

I found this same kit for $250 cheaper I think. It's for a 1979, and looks to be 4 bolt flanges.

I am thinking on this I am wandering though which carb is more trouble free the 2bbls or the singles. it seems to me that the 2bbls theoretically should be better, but I am up for any imput.

Vetterdog, Even my boss says that I should keep the FI. I can't get a pulse signal to the injectors, and after going through the steps in the bentley manual It looks like my control unit is bad. I haven't been able to find one yet. But I Just found out today that the distributor drive was installed 90 degrees advanced. I fixed that and she ran bottle fed. So I atleast know that she will run.

This morning I found out that the noid light that I had used to test the injector pulse was burned out. The problem all along was the distributor drive being 90 degrees off. The previous owner had given up after 4 months. I found the problem after only a few days of pittling with it. I set the timing and idle today, and I will have to say she runs perfect! No ecu needed here.
Thanks to everyone for their help.

So you're keeping the FI? Excellent. Mine has been a pleasure for 98% of the time I've had it, and the other 2% was me learning thing about it! Glad to hear it's running, best of luck with it!
